Entirely dumb reasons! Most because I wish bad things on stupid people. Also... ban evading because my computer logged in a banned account and then my dumb ass immediately logged in with my unbanned account.

others are to sign up for various offers and deals
some are used as through ways

Currently I have one mail provider but four emails. I have a main email address that only I and my mail provider know. And three aliases. One alias for family members, one alias for trustworthy online sources like Amazon, Steam, KPS. I also use it for my job (for business partners that contact me, I don't have a website). The third alias is for potential spammers. When I register somewhere, I always use the third alias and change it later if I don't get bothered by spam. I could delete and add an alias in a few seconds. For me it's the best way to deal with spam because I don't want to fiddle around with spam filters.

Thanks! I have four aliases for free (I currently use three of them). But even if you need to pay a few bucks for that option, it's worth the money. There's no need to give someone your real email address anymore.

I don't know if it's genius, but at least it's very practical. That being said, I'm not sure if every worldwide mail provider has that alias option, or offers it to free users.
