3 very surprising affirmations in regards to the Kpop industry.

• Hand-signed Albums
• "Injuries"
• Live AR

She obviously has nothing to lose given that she was literally let go but I can understand why some may be upset with her. It's a bit controversial ig.

I saw she got quite a bit of backlash for this.. but I never understood why, everything she said is very nuanced and not hard to believe :thumbsupcat:
Likewise. I'm not disputing the fact that her claims may very well be accurate. However, at times, some things are better left unsaid. She evidently has a vendetta on the Industry and a TT follower pool to preserve. I'm not knocking on her, I'm just saying, go easy gurl, it ain't just Kpop these days, It's everywhere. That's my take on it.

I would much prefere a kpop world that is more honest and were not everything has to be kept hidden and lied about.. I understand this will not happen, as it would turn away a big chunk of the demographic that depends on those lies and delusions to keep paying, but it just keeps hurting the idols in the end.. e.g. what was done to Karina :nekosweat:

very good points. However, I'll simply say this because I happen to have korean blood and I do have relatives in sk (eventho I wasn't raised there). It's a different culture and a different mindset over there. I realize it's a bit hard for us to understand some aspects of it but I assure you, some things you may perceive as blatantly wrong are in fact the norm in their way of living. Again, I'm not knocking on Daisy but she did spend a fair amount of time in Canada and things are very different in the western world. Anyhow, like I said in my intro, I'm rather partial in this because in the end, everyone's got an opinion and we all have our own outlook on what is wrong and right. I respect that. I really do.

Agree with you, things never get better or change if people never speak up.

Culture isn't an excuse for not progressing as humanity. Some things are not OK no matter what a culture says. That being said, the things Daisy is talking about are pretty mundane. Infact the thing that bothered me the most was Auto pen. If Idols want plastic surgery, it's not my business and they do not need to provide an explation to fans but since some fans are a bit crazy I can understand why they will tell false hoods. Live AR I can get over because kpop is about the show. Some idols aren't the greatest vocalist but have amazing stage presence (Sakura). Sometimes idols voices need a break, they get sick, etc but not enough to cancel shows/appearances. That said, the Kpop industry is doing this to it's self. If they are going to chase the international dollar they have to endure the international criticism and in some cases, actually change.

well put  to answer your culture statement, in their view, the west is regressing. I'll leave at that because if you've never been there, it's pointless to discuss it and I don't want to deviate from the fact that some of it is good and some of it is terrible, culturally speaking. So yeah, I agree with you for the rest. They are indeed wrecking their own backyard. But in the end, we're all here, aren't we? So what gives? Aren't we just as bad to support them (The Agencies)? Food for thought I guess.

From what I saw on different websites and by people their comments there, people were rather annoyed by the fact she spoke for all people who would go on a hiatus and would get stuff done. It troubles people myself included that she has no right to speak for everyone. Jeongyeon for instance was on a hiatus and had real physical pain and injuries and was put on medication and probably still is, but by Daisy her logic here she had plastic surgery. Same with Lia and Mina their hiatus due to anxiety and the list goes on. By statements like she does people will be scared to now go on a hiatus if they need it for their mental health.

I also think she doesn't have to speak like she knows the whole industry when she herself spend probably over half her life abroad outside of SK, to me she just sounds like the typical newer gens who will try to "expose" and change things up in the industry for clout.

I agree 100% The west is regressing at a break neck, heart breaking speed. It feels like compassion was a weird fad that isn't cool any more.

Gone over this in my head more times than you can imagine as I got further into kpop. The conclusion I have come to is that unless we all abandon kpop, it's not going anywhere because there is to many people who see Kpop as a tool for the own selfish satisfaction. Those folks aren't going any where and if we leave it's only there voices left.. I recently made the mistake of reading a few comments regarding Eunchae on reddit from a particularly vile kpop subreddit that were both disgusting and enlightening as to the voices that would be left. Those Idols are going to pursue their dreams and I'm going to stick around so (hopefully, I have my flawed moments :jenniespooked:) I can be one of the voices that speak sanity, respect, greatfulness, and love. If the good guys leave all that is left is the selfish, degenerate, degrading voices and it makes me sick to leave these girls and guys to that filth.:pandangry:

Lets try to be more clear what we are talking about, as I feel like you have completely different aspects in mind than me. My example with Karina related to the "no dating" culture of Kpop, which has nothing to do with general korean culture.

my thought, exactly. Like I said, she might be telling the truth, whatever, but in the end, I'm just not convinced she had to go there.

I also choose to support my fav Idols. In fact, they have nothing to do with what Agencies "deem" appropriate. I'm just not supportive of what Daisy did, truth or not. She's been out of the game for a long time, stay out of it!
