I have an idea for a possible web drama miniseries or short film called The Laws of Friction. Here's a plot rundown I have so far
TW FOR MENTIONS OF VIOLENCE
Constance Jameson is a 15 year old aro-ace high school girl who's never been interested in lust or romance and is slightly isolated from her peers and family because of it; who insist that she just "hasn't found the one". Her mother specifically puts tons of pressure on her to continue the bloodline (which her other two siblings failed at due to their life circumstances) and wanting her to be ready for marriage by the end of senior year. Constance obviously butts heads with her mother often giving the drastic differentiation in their mindsets and values. In comes Chance Edwin who she befriends one day in Physics class. He's a bit cocky but an ambivert and has similar music taste as Constance so they get along quite well. Although not in the same situation, he's under similar pressure to be the perfect son to his father mum died; he doesn't want to give him more pressure by revealing that he doesn't like girls because like Constance's mother, he's old fashioned and additionally has a bad drinking problem and gets particularly physically violent if he's a bottle too deep. After a misunderstanding when Constance is transported to the hospital for an injury and the staff ask his relation to her, Chance haphazardly blurts out that he is her new boyfriend. The two later devise a plan to fake date for a while just to get their parents off their backs.
Any thoughts or ideas on how I could improve or flesh it out a bit more because I have a feeling that I might be missing something especially with Chance's character even though the story is supposed to mostly be about Constance as she narrates it and the book starts off with her introducing herself
