this happens with me alot where my wording is off and someone thinks im being mean but in text its hard to tell how the person is feeling where as if its were in person we can tell by tone and facial expression

yeah, and it sucks bc I've gotten into so much internet trouble for sounding insensitive when I didn't mean to be. there should be some sort of typing style that expresses your emotions more accurately. I mean, there are emojies and text speak and all that, but sometimes, people miss those cues

I have the habit of saying "just kidding" or "lol", if it is something unserious.

Well... there have been a few times when I had thought someone perhaps sounded mad at me in text, when they probably weren't.

yeah i get it i remeber a user was mad at me here i dont blame them tho bc i dragged out a joke and they wanted me to stop which i wasnt getting until they told me straight up I felt so bad :((
