Since it's that time of year when things start blooming (with a caveat for you southern hemisphere folk, no idea for you), what do you like?

I'm a huge fan of tulips. We even have a tulip festival in my area that will be in a couple of weeks.

I've never heard of those! They're so cool!

Ha, no, but there's a local city that was founded by Dutch settlers in the 1800s and some traditions have stuck around. I don't live in that city, but the popularity of tulips has caught on in other cities, so there are always some growing around this time of year. They make me so happy.

my mother has always loved them so it's rubbed off me
they are lovely and I especially love how it fills up the tree, as well as how full the petals look

For such a strangely named flower, they're so pretty!! I love all the colors.

They're named bearded for the petals that hang down on each side (like a beard). Otherwise there are normal irises without the lower petal.

Oh, I don't think I've ever heard someone point out periwinkle before! I know the color, but couldn't picture the plant, so I had to google. It is pretty!
