‘Former National Team Candidate’ ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon Becomes a Korean Sport & Olympic Committee Ambassador: “I Will Share the Charm of Sports”
ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon has been appointed as an ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.
On May 16, Sunghoon attended the appointment ceremony held at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, bringing his presence to the event.
Given his background as a former national figure skating team candidate
before his debut, Sunghoon’s connection to sports is especially meaningful.
As an ambassador, Sunghoon will engage in activities to increase interest in the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, promote the importance of grassroots sports through talent sharing, and deliver messages about sports policies.
At the ceremony, Sunghoon expressed, “It is an honor to serve as an ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. Figure skating was a turning point in my life. The spirit of challenge and focus I gained from my experience as a national team candidate has been the foundation of who I am today.”
He continued, “Although they are different fields, I believe K-pop and sports share core values because they both require giving your best at every moment and are supported by passionate fans. I will take the lead in sharing the power and value of our sports with more people and showcasing the charm of sports.”
General Secretary Kim Nami stated, “With the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics approaching, we are pleased to have ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon, a former figure skater, as our ambassador. We look forward to his various activities encouraging more citizens to support the Winter Olympics and our national athletes.”
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN is set to release their 6th mini album, ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH,’ on June 5.
