this was sparked by a memory of a time when I said to someone I never heard of the band X (not their name - just a placeholder), and they were all butthurt like I had to know who they were or I was stupid or something. I hate that, bc not everybody listens to the same music! I mean, it sucks to know not everyone has heard of 5SOS, and I always try to promote them any chance I get, but I don't actively shame people for it.

When people use technology to say wrong things that are easily verifiable through google. I get it happens sometimes. But if you say something easily verifiably false like Einstein failed math, then dig in and argue if someone corrects you, it’s annoying. You can take 5 seconds to google and verify if you need to. And I get this can happen to anyone, me included, but if it happens a lot to you, it might be a sign of something But its mostly the insistence you’re right without checking that annoys me.

oh, that's another thing! especially when it's a comment under a vlog where there are kids present. they're all "you should've done this" "you shouldn't have done that" and other Karen-y things. Like, you only see a small portion of the vlogger's day per video, so who are you to judge what they do and don't do?

my hyperspecific ones:
1. aesthetic accounts, especially the twitter ones: they're just glorified content farms atp reposting content without credit, ai slop, and other trending content from other platforms with the audacity to monetize it all
2. adding onto that, people with terrible ai detection: by that i mean the em dash = ai or can't recognize ai to save their life spectrum
3. "experts" who have so very obviously never opened a book: more specific to fashion influencers but so many of them come down to vibe instead of actually articulating how and why, much less dig into further detail
4. gossipers who don't put any effort: you can't expect everything to be handed over to you, what happened to reading between the lines, conducting your own sensitivity checks, actually remembering stuff to timeline together?

but to be more specific - when you express an emotionally charged opinion on something and someone comes up with a condescending "well that's why it happened...." ass answer like no shit sherlock! i know WHY certain things happen and i'm still allowed to be disappointed about them
