...bc you're bound to find something that'll keep you up all night. I just came across a post in IG that talks about a Korean woman suing the country over her missing son bc he was wrongfully adopted, and now I can't stop thinking about it. Sad thing is, this adoption had happpened in 1975, so fifty years ago... but omg somebody distract me!

That happened a lot in south and North Korea. I have an aunt and uncle who adopted (basically bought) two children from North Korea in the 80's. Both were extremely tramatized and had tons of problems. They eventually abandoned the boy at 14 becauee he had issues and another Uncle raised the him. Through years of therapy they found out they witnessed their birth parents execution. Its a really f'd up situation. A lot of children were taken from parents in Ireland and sold by the catholic church to rich and English parents from the 50's all the way to the 70's.
