Czechiaslovakia changed its name to Czech Republic (when it separated from Slovakia) and then to Czechia. oh, and there used to be a country called Yugoslavia, but that dissolved in like the '90s, iirc?

India was originally known as Hindustan before it separated from Pakistan, although some ppl still call India Hindustan

Eswatini used to be Swaziland. Zimbabwae used to be Rhodesia. Burkina Faso was Upper Volta. These are just a few of the African countries that changed their names after colonialism, there are a lot of them.

Czech Republic is still an official name, it’s just that Czechia is now an official shortened name that can be used in English also. As for Yogoslavia, it dissolved into multiple counties after its fall. But those divisions already existed as republics, such as the Serbian republic, Croatian republic, Slovenian republic, ect so it wasn’t really a name change as much as a division into regions that already had names attached to them.

Oh and an interesting one is Côte d’Ivoire. They used to accept Ivory Coast as their English name, which is the direct translation of their name. However, they have officially made their name the French version only, so for official reasons Ivory Coast should not be used. Unofficially people still call them Ivory Coast though
