Social deduction games are games where players attempt to uncover roles or allegiances. For example, for One Night Werewolf, you're trying to figure out who the werewolf is. Some other pretty popular ones are Mafia (as immortalized by Itzy), Two Rooms and a Boom, Among Us, etc.

I think these kind of games can be fun, but you have to play with people who are willing to get into wildly accusing other people of being Secret Hitler or whatever. I'm going to a Blood on the Clocktower game tonight, which is a large scale social deduction game: you need at least 10 people to even play it. There's a local company that runs a community game every month.

Definitely need the right group for it! I've been lucky that the monthly Blood on the Clocktower players are very friendly and very welcoming.

I played Mafia in school but schools nowadays don’t really play it. Wink murderer was another one we played in school. Also played Among Us when it was popular
