Subscription services (either someone adds me to their plan or I just don't have it)
Skin-care products or lotions (a simple bar of soap can do wonders, don't need any fancy products)
Makeup (I don't wear it often enough to be buying it, I wear it maybe once a year)
High-end fashion (cheap, good quality clothes is where it's at)

I generally avoid wasting money by:

Asking myself if I actually need or want the item, or is it just an "oh shiny" gut reaction (aka, not buying in the first place).

Researching to make sure I buy the correct item the first time. Some of my most expensive purchases have been the ones I cheaped out on and had to buy a second time to get the thing I actually wanted/needed.

Organic food usually. If there is no other option I may get it, but in most cases I’d rather get the non organic version if it’s available

Alcohol and cigarettes, sweets, junk food, expensive clothes, the latest gaming hardware (I don't pay extra for the hype), most decoration items, advertised skin-care products (I use products from a rather unknown German natural cosmetics brand), a new car (I rarely drive by car).

rent because i live with my family streaming services other than spotify, for movies i just go to theaters and then if it's not playing there then piracy is the way to go. also obviously high-end clothes too, i mostly go to second hand stores these days but this is a matter of affordability more than anything - if i could afford sustainable clothing i'd definitely spend my money on that, but i can't so there's that skincare as well since i tend to have no issues with my skin so i just use basic cleaning products and could never see myself those multiple step skincare routines which are all over social media these days

you should ask what I WOULD spend on cuz there is an endless number of tings I would not buy

1. is it useful? (if its for my personal happiness, like a plushie, then yes)
2. will it last long?
3. Will it definitely get used or eventually just collect dust?
4. is the money spent going to be worth it for me or will I regret?

These are generally what I will consider before buying something

Same lol like I do care about my gadgets, skin care, makeup, even my 3-4 vacations every year, but I wouldn't be caught dead buying an album or smth and I have been into kpop since 2011.

To be fair they have to spend money to get the certification. So it would be silly for them to price it identically since they’d be loosing money. But for me being organic isn’t worth it enough to make up for it

Not really just living in EU where travelling is easier bc of the borders and budget airlines and such haha, I also usually stay in hostels unless I’m with friends.
