Well, more like the tail end of the first leg and the entirety of the second leg was a doozy. But anyway, it all started with an announcement on the way to our connecting flight that there was inclement weather in that destination. On top of that, there was a plane blocking the arrival gate, so we had to wait for that to be resolved, plus wait for the two other planbes ahead of us. It took us ten minutes just to arrive at the gate. And on top of THAT, we were in one of the very last rows, so it took us another five to get off. Fifteen minutes I'll never get back.
At the connect8ing airport, we were both hungry, so we looked everywhere for a place to eat. Mind you, it was after 9pm at the time and most everything was closed. So, we found a pizza place (who knew there would be a Papa John's in an airport? lol)... only to find out the cash register absolutely sucked and was crashing every few minutes. It took forever to get our pizza when it should've taken 4-5 minutes. Then, as we were leaving, there was a gate change, but it was still an easyt walk from there. We arrived at thge gate, but it was filled to the brim with other passengers, so we had to sit at the next gate over. We ate our pizza there, and while we were eating, I kept hearing about flights getting canceled. I was so afraid ours would be one of them... but by the grace of God, it wasn't!
But the story doesn't end there. Instead of canceling the flight, they kept delaying it. They delayed it like three or four times, and a flight that should've taken off at eleven something, didn't end up doing so until like twelve. MIDNIGHT!
We finallyt landed an hour later, but then we had to wait half an hour for my caregiver's hubby to pick us up, and then it took another half hour to get home and fifteen extra minutes to get ready for bed. My head hit the pillow at exactly 2:15 in the morning.
Phew!
