I have a friend who spends Sunday making all the food they will eat for the week.

I do more, like... I have made a meal and made more than I can eat in one sitting so I have leftovers for a couple of days. Though tonight's meal is taking forever, so I ate something else and am basically just finishing making lunch tomorrow.

Yes I do. I actually spent today meal prepping. I have breakfast burritos for this week and also have snacks prepared in ziplock bags for the whole week

I can see the appeal of putting on a movie and cranking through cooking for a week... if you'll actually eat what you prepped later. I'd just get to day 3 or 4 and be like "nah."

@centen I only prep the same meal for up to two days maximum because I do get sick of the same foods over and over again. Like I meal prepped stuffed peppers for dinner tomorrow night

You know, I have been wondering this. If people prep for a whole week, how does the food not get bad? I already dislike eating something if it has been in the fridge longer than a day (leftover wise).

I usually dont past just planning what I will eat for grocery reasons. But I do sometimes change plans mid week if i need to or want to

That sounds more doable to me. And not that different from me making tomorrow's lunch tonight.

I think it depends on the food? Like my friend just posted to Instagram that her main meal this week is couscous, roasted chickpeas, salsa, and chicken. Except for the salsa, I'd think the others would keep okay through Friday at least? Especially if you added a little sauce or something after it's heated up.

But she might have a higher tolerance than I do for the texture changes that occur to raw chopped veggies after they've been sitting for several days. For me, as soon as I think "this is gross" I can't make myself eat it, even if I know it's just in my head and not actually spoiled.

Yeah, I think I am just too paranoid of food turning bad that I don't dare to prep meals. The only thing I prep are my strawberries and blueberries as I have it as the last meal of the day right before bed lol. So I end up preparing that a little before dinner already.

no, i only prepare the food right before i'm going to eat it. nothing really stays in my fridge for more than one day because it lacks the flavor afterwards.

yeah, but with my caregiver's help. I'll come up with the idea, and she'll cook enough to last me at least a couple days.
