His coworker was Ann Rule. Later she wrote the biographical book about Bundy 'The Stranger Beside Me'.

I’ve heard theories that he may have liked it because he felt it gave him power over someone in terms of life or death. But I’ve also read that he may have just been doing it as a school requirement. Both sound like they could be true
