Probably Bad Day by Daniel Powter, just because it's the quintessential one-hit wonder, imo. Absolutely massive and everywhere, and then the artist disappeared off the face of the earth.

Thinking on this for kpop, and it's harder because of the way fandoms are structured, a group that gets at least one hit usually manages to have more. (e.g. Brave Girls had Rollin', We Ride, and Chi Mat Ba Ram; Momoland had Baam and Boom Boom; Crayon Pop had Bar Bar Bar and Lonely Christmas).

Maybe Refund Sisters' Don't Touch Me, because it did so crazy well for a hot second and then disappeared into oblivion, to the point that when end-of-year numbers came out, people were like "whose song was that again?"

well, there is Myteen - they only had one hit in their BBQ song afaik, and then they like... quietly disbanded, I guess?

Both their albums were pretty good, but they unequivocally only had the one hit. But what a hit!
I saw an interview recently with the singer of this song and she talked about the racism she experienced in the states... They didn't want her fronting the song, being the face of it... This was the 90s. Really shocking. Obviously it wasn't a problem here in the UK. Hmm.

I know that song got recently popular, but back in the day it was just one of a string of hits. For example, her single that preceded this one (Take Me Home) hit the same chart position. The album in general went double plat.
