Is it normal that I am confused by what is the use for it? Like, I always forget it's even on my phone and when/if I remember it; this is what I ask it.

People that uses it, how do you use chat GPT? I am genuinely confused about it.

Mmmh, I have never watched Star Trek so I don't really know about Data but I can picture how it would act. If that makes sense.
I just always never see why I would use it. I think it just does the thinking part (which I love getting lost in my head) for me and that's pretty much it.

That's interesting. I usually get confused and either ask it stupid questions or start insulting it. Although, there was that time I was trying to make it sentient.

Of course. That's the reason why those AI crawler bots are everywhere (I'm pretty sure they gather data from KPS too). They collect information because an AI needs training, otherwise it's useless.

Depending on the topic, an AI could write a complete book for you. Technologically we're already there.

I use it all the time in place of things I would Google for. Tips on DIY, cooking... And, like, to help me understand things. To get a better understanding of parts of history, or math, or physics, or whatever. It's also great to quickly refresh stuff that you've forgotten. Like: "Give me a quick primer on commonly used statistical notation" (I just did this and got an answer so good that if I was a student I would print it out and frame the damn thing)
It's not a 100%, but nowadays it even links to some sources of information that you can delve deeper on if you want.

not to be holier than thou but i'd rather puke in my hands and clap than use generative AI. the planet is dying because people wanna see fucking studio ghibli version of their pics or because they're too lazy to use their brains for an essay. don't even get me started on those who talk to chatgpt like that robot is an actual human being because that is just a pathetic sight to see and might lead to a tragic outcome like that one 16 year old who took his own life after confessing his suicidal thoughts to it.

I use it to help with listing stuff or getting info, like I wanted to know which seasons multiple different flowers bloomed in and it got me that information and also listed it well for me to use



I also use it to give me ideas, like asking for cool greek words so I can create a cool character name with them also you can ask it stuff thats nuanced or nichely discussed on the internet and it will give a nice response instead of you having to dig through outdated reddit posts from 2009


I am also making a way too complex story but its about the kpop industry and there's not enough common knowledge of how companies work so I do need it to help there

Or "ask me some questions" and it'll ask a couple of questions in a row.
It'll even tell you don't have to answer them all

i'm just hoping that once the novelty wears off, it becomes another fad like the NFTs were in the early 2020s when every insufferable person you knew had that damn monkey pfp on social media. there are literal studies showing that using gen-AI on a regular basis makes you dumb so i'm just going to stay shamelessly bragging about never having used it and hoping that every major creative project featuring it flops miserably as that's all i can do.
