to be fair, a ton of companies are pushing their groups in the west now. even the ones i thought wouldn't give a fuck like sm, mnet, etc. it's kinda scary because i feel like, if tons of groups start going there, USA isn't gonna take any of them seriously (sadly we can already tell by certain ignorant incidents with txt, nct, bp, etc over there). i think the western music industry and the asian one are quite different so you have to have a careful approach to it.

don't get me wrong though, i don't think there's anything wrong with promoting there. it's smart, i'm just scared of how the groups and the public may end up feeling about it.

i also hope idols and companies don't have any unrealistic expectations of success because you can't always make it big in a certain place and that's fine.

but isn't one of the members from MX already enlisting next year? it seems a bit late for starship to be doing this

Yeah, every fan of Monsta X is aware of that. The group is signed to an American agency and has released a few songs entirely in English.

As for "trying so hard"—every group wants to be successful, no? If money and effort is put into their US promotions, no doubt Monsta X would work hard at it. Many K-pop groups nowadays are starting to target the global/ Western market to varying degrees of success.
