The idea many have of alpha wolves, beta wolves, ect is actually not found in wild wolves. The studies that led to these beliefs were seen only in captive wolf packs. In the wild, wolf packs are family groups led by both the parents.

Yeah it feels crazy because the idea of alpha wolf and beta wolf is so commonplace that it seems like it must be true But in the wild packs are indeed parent led, with the kids being the subordinate ones
