I feel like it's easy to blame the company when an artist doesn't get popular, but sometimes, the company seems to put in an almost baffling amount of support for an artist that sells poorly, has a small fandom, etc.

(This post brought to you by Lightsum, who could have been better if Cube was more competent, and made me wonder about the opposite scenario.)

Obligatory: Lucas. Throwing money at his solo debut when he wasn't the strongest NCT member at anything -- not the best rapper, the best vocalist, the best dancer, or the best visual -- and the fandom that they were relying on supporting him was all mad at him... Absolutely baffling decision.

Idk if this counts but Heartsteel with from LoL and Riot
They had one release but I think Riot was expecting the group to take off the same way K/DA did, especially with Baekhyun in it.

Oh, good point! I really liked "Paranoia," but I think they should have called it "Death of a Rockstar," a lot of people got confused by the title when paranoia is barely mentioned in the song itself.

And from my friend who is really into LoL, they did pick very popular characters, same as with K/DA, it just didn't take off in the same way.
