Should we start having mock funerals for users that are inactive? (1 Viewer)

well, it's only been a month - I was gone for six weeks earlier this year bc I sacrificed the forums for Lent,. did they miss me? Sure they did! but I'd give her at least six months. that's pretty much the requirement for our Comeback of the Year award - five or six months of inactivity

but if I were to hold one, I'd do it for seoriverse. I was the first one who posted on her profile, amnd we were even shipwrecks for a while.

I don't think that is a good idea at all

there could be many reasons why some users are inactive least of which might have to do with something going on with their health or the health of their family

can you imagine doing something like this and them having an actual real life tragedy at home???

There was a real life case of a user(don't name em pls) who had a health incident n returned to KS explaining or stating wat happened.

Tat user is slowly being active again but imagine if there had been a mock ceremony while inactive n returning to alerts "hi we had a mock ceremony while u were hvg a health crisis, srry we dint know becos u dint inform us while u had a health crisis so one of us made a thread abt it."

How did u feel about the play, mrs lincoln?(apart from the health incident, did u like the story or the actors' acting or the directing?)

yeah, maybe no mock ceremonies abt users hiatuses(unless they agree beforehand n they inform u abt the circumstances of their hiatus AND fully agree to have a mock ceremony(during their hiatus, just imo ofc). If I knew I'd be hvg a hiatus(not becos of health) I'd be down with hvg a "mock" ceremony for "leave of absense" or sabbatical(but I wouldn't knowingly go on hiatus cos of cards collecting obsessiveness.

the OP wrote "mock funeral" which is very bad taste...

This could backfire quickly. Imagine a member took a break because a relative got seriously sick and then died. The member comes back to calm the nervs and seeks distraction and then there's a thread about their 'funeral'...

A mock funeral would also send a wrong signal. Because buried people normally don't come back. I'd interpret my mock funeral as "We're done with you, stay wherever you are!"

Last but not least, not everyone can laugh about black humour.
