Hi everyone.
I would like to talk about my mental health a little. Here are some songs I can relate to within the past few years and a explanation of why. This includes wrapped, and other songs that are non-wrapped.
So Spotify doesn't make me feel more depressed/re-traumatise me with these wrapped playlists.
2024 Playlist.
Novocaine by Connor Kauffman. I have felt a big butterfly effect in my life, and live with OCD.
Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens. I relate this song to the characters Athelstan and Gyda in Vikings. I love their friendship <3 She shows kindness to him, she is his little dragonfly.
Paper Crown by Alec Benjamin. His delicate sensitive voice helps me understand a bit more of the hurt and pain and violence around me, to say what I feel and think.
meant to be by Jared Benjamin. He talks about his childhood and his identity, which I can relate with. Am I good enough, am I a monster?
2022 Playlist.
My Body is a Cage by Peter Gabriel. I was disassociating a lot, and could relate to Max Vandenburg from The Book Thief.
The Hunter by the Seaside Window by Alex Henry Foster. I was really scared of a community from my past that hurt me, and the trauma rapidly came back, and I felt they were the hunter.
Stay Alive by Jungkook. I feel like him and BTS were scared for me, and to stay alive.
Live Like We Want To by Palaye Royale. This band says I am loved, as I love them. I was in a maze, and they tried to talk to me.
Man or a Monster by Sam Tinnesz. I was very confused on who I was.
Mansion by NF. I felt like the girl Edith in Crimson Peak, when she is holding a candelabra and walking around the house.
Conspiracy of Silence by The Swoons. I was singing this song out loud to myself, as I thought the community could hear me in that year. I felt very haunted.
