Do you ever feel like too many services/apps/sites do a "year in review"? (1 Viewer)

Like, no, I actually don't need a year-in-review from the company I visited once to do a "make your own candle" class.

I think it’s fine if it’s anything you have a streak on, but in scenarios like your example it feels unnecessary

Right, or anything where the results may be surprising. Like spotify tends to be fun because of how many songs come out in a year, so it has that "oh, yeah, I forgot about that one!" element to it.

But some of it is like "yes, I did repeatedly do the one thing your service sells, thanks for telling me."

I'm with @athenarose - only if it's something I use constantly

Like personally I am okay with YouTube and Duolingo doing it for example but random candle company, no thanks

I got a "year end review" from my health insurance provider.
But it was just an ad for high premiums I could sign up for that would have reduced the price of my previous claims >.>

[eclipsoul]

i think it's fun if they really put some effort to it, if it's some ai generated slop then they can keep it

I haven’t had that issue, but it’s an issue I could believe happens pretty easily

This is the best kind of Year in Review issok

[RainbowMoon]

Like everyone else is saying, it depends on the thing. I always think it's really interesting but I would say only for entertainment services like streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+), music services (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube music) and educational apps/sites like Duolingo

This is totally different than "thanks for buying siding from us, here's your year in review!" Like how often do they think I'm going to re-side my house??
