Fun Fact of the Day #13 (1 Viewer)

[Ahsoka]

The color orange is named after the fruit. Despite this fact, not all oranges appear orange, when grown in hot climates oranges remain green on the outside even when fully ripe. Even in more temperate climates, oranges can turn green again by sucking chlorophyll out of neighboring leaves. Because the color green is associated with unripe fruit, these oranges are put through some sort of process to eliminate chlorophyll from the outside and allow the orange color to show.
