Excluding school/work, what are you good at? (2 Viewers)

I've realized I've gotten into a negative pattern lately of telling myself (and others) that I'm not good at things. So I'm making a list this morning of things I AM good at, like: I'm willing to try things even if I think I'll be bad at them.


So I want to hear the cool things KPS peeps are good at too.

That sounds really cool!! I always think people being able to take materials and turn it into something else is such a cool skill.

Dancing as well. That being said, we're avid black diamond skiers, the entire damn family I nearly killed myself the first time at the age of 5. The rest is history. twice to thrice a month since then.

memorising bus schedules, doing bold makeup, guessing songs by clips, graphic design, doing presentations... good thing you excluded school at work because those are things i'm actually not very good at

You're not the only one. There are other people who weren't good at things ...

- Elvis Presley's high school music teacher informed him that he (Elvis) didn't have any talent for singing.

- Hans Zimmer quit piano lessons after 2 weeks because 'they were a torture'. Instead he continued playing piano by hearing, feeling, intuition.

- Jimi Hendrix said in an interview that he had a 'F' in music class.

Who knows what you will discover when you continue being 'not good at things'? Don't let (self-)criticism get in your way. Continue doing things because you have fun doing them and as long as they feel 'right' for you.

I just think people tend to get into the habit of valuing themselves only at what they are paid for/productive at, and unless you have a REALLY cool job (like monitoring penguins in Antarctica or something), your work is likely not the most interesting thing about you, you know? Like everything you listed is way more amazing than being good at school/work! I was just thinking this morning that I'd like to find at least an eye makeup routine I can feel confident/pretty in.

Acrobatics and flexibility type stuff (compared to the average person). I have decent historical and language knowledge compared to quite a few people too.
