I've got a reading question (1 Viewer)

do you ever stop in the middle of a series to start a new one? bc I picked up a Thursday Murder Club book(one with a really fire plot) the other day, and turns out it's actually the fifth book in this apparently continuous series, and now I want to read it from the top. But the problem is, I'm already on book two of my current Weddings by Bella series. hmm... should I just read them in tandem or continue with WBB and save TTMC for later? I do tend to get confused when I'm doing two or more related things (like reading two book series) at once, so idk lol

This is making my head spin just to imagine, I'm OCD like crazy and like to do everything systematically so if I were you I'd focus on wrapping up the one I've been reading from the start and then start the second series from the beginning once I'm done. But you're not me so whatever makes you comfortable?

Spoiler: tangent about me having OCD tendencies

yeah, I also have OCD (well, not OCD OCD, just its tendencies - but I was once thought to have it). it's part of a bigger condition called CHARGE syndrome. I could get into the nitty gritty of what it really is, but I think that would also make your head spin. So I guess you could just find out through its website. It's a rare yet recognizable genetic disorder that was so outrageously rare when I was born that doctors were stumped for a whole three years before they could pinpoint a diagnosis. Anyway, enough yammering bc again, I don't want your head to spin out of countrol. lol here's the link:

I have one book on audio and one physical book going at basically all times, but I make sure to prioritize different genres. (For example, right now, my audio book is a cozy fantasy, and my physical book is a sci-fi superhero story.)

For interrupting a series, I don't like to do it if I don't have to, but some series are long, and it can be nice to step away to something else. TBH, I've come to really appreciate standalones a lot lately instead of series. There are just too many 6+ book series that really did not have enough to say for that many books.

well, idk how long TTMC is, but WBB is a romance series of only four books (and I'm almost done with the second), which I do prioritize romance over murder mysteries. great advice!

No worries, friend. I wasn't being that serious about my head but it's true that I like to be systematic in what I do - I don't think I would ever find myself in your position to begin with since I always research everything thoroughly before I start. Maybe for some people it's nice to alternate media so you don't get bored, I get bored sometimes but I just don't like to split my attention so I double down and try to finish things quickly instead.

It can be a struggle to get a proper diagnosis and I'm sorry you had to go through that.
