From the other founding father presidents, meaning founding fathers who went on to serve as president. One was is that out of the whole group, he was the only one that never owned slaves. He was also the only one who wasn’t from Virginia. The rest of them (Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe) all owned slaves at some point and came from Virginia.

Yeah, it absolutely dominated US politics at the beginning. Its kinda interesting because that wasn't originally the case, one of the reason the continental congress picked George Washington to lead the army in 1766 was specifically because Virginia wasnt that on board with the revolution, and they hoped that picking Washington would encourage Virginia to be more in favor of the revolution because of the representation.
