They don’t bite or actively seek blood like mosquitos, but if given a source of blood (like a carcass), they will drink the blood. The blood has sodium and glucose that is beneficial to butterflies.

Nope! A butterfly’s diet is low in things like sodium, so blood can be a good source to make up for the lack of sodium in other things it eats
