People at school thought my headphones were smth else (1 Viewer)

I got these bone conduction headphones because I enjoy listening to music but was worried about damaging my hearing as I have outer ear hearing difficulties. The way bone conduction headphones work is they convert sound into vibrations and have a thick part of the headphones (that typically sit on top of bones correlating with where your inner ear would be internally) and send sound to you that way. This is really great for me as someone who doesnt always have the best time hearing through in ear headphones and it also gives the advantage of my actual outer ear being unplugged and free so the small sounds I do hear from the outer ear are clearer. I brought them with me to school and I assumed that I'd get told off by an admin for having on headphones since we have a strict policy about that there with the exception of some teachers that won't snitch cuz they're cool. I surprisingly got only positive greetings from the admins and zero comment on the headphones. I showed them to my friend and he told me that they looked like hearing aids. Then it hit me. I joked with him that they basically are with the way they transmit sound to the inner ear as well as the physical build but I actually found an app that would allow me to use the bone conduction headphones as an otc hearing device which I do technically need anyways so everything worked out well in the end. This way im not technically lying, they just gave me a spur of the moment idea

I'm glad the teachers and staff are chill! You can always submit an 504 plan just in case any substitutes are less so. I did that with my headphones
