I’ve heard hit me where it hurts before and I can say I like it but the first time I heard it I thought my speaker was broken
Whirlwind reminds me of the same dreaminess/hypnotizing songs they used to sing in the MLP movies I will definitely be listening to it again
The last song reminds me of those scary movie songs they play while the main character is searching or finding something out I like it

anthracite fields is written about the coal mining industry in pennsylvania and the inspo for flowers being an interview clip of families talking about the flowers they planted so that eerie feeling def is a thing
fire in my belly, written about the triangle shirtwaist factory fire, wasn’t as well received (anthracite fields won a pulitzer for music) but I find it just as excellent — protest stands out in my opinion
