As for my own favorite it's hard to say, I was more into visual novels than Anime so I'm partial towards VN adaptations like 'Clannad' or 'Stein's Gate' and I'm also just a sucker for nakige in general. I also really enjoyed the original Evangelion + EOE even though it had slow and annoying moments - as a whole I think it's a masterpiece, the reboot diverged to far from it's core theme though because the writer wants the series to be his diary.

I also really enjoyed 'Boku Dake ga Inai Machi', it's the most high quality story but the story reached me on a personal level so I consider it one of my favorites.

Apart from the fact that I avoid watching it again: Grave Of The Fireflies. If you can watch the movie the first time without crying, you're probably a stone.

I watch some anime

I watch what one would consider westernised anime - like your narutos and pokemons and one piece and DBZ and yugioh plus I've watched most of Ghibli's stuff and some older anime like Evangelion and Akira

I don't have much time to watch much now but I watched more in my younger days
