Do you actually follow all of the members' activities equally? Like check out all of their CFs, all of their acting gigs, listen to all their solo and subunit releases, their project releases, mixtapes, special stages, red carpet appearances, etc.?

And if yes, how do you keep them all straight??

The J-Pop group AKB48 currently has 43 members. I don't stan them but following every member would be a full-time job.

I didn't stan a group with 10+ members so far. Dreamcatcher had seven members and I rarely followed every member's activities. I listened to their solo releases and watched their vlogs. There was no need to know every detail of their lives.

I was updating my cards list for NCT and was like "who is this person and when did they join." I don't even follow everyone's activities for my faves in much smaller groups.

So I'm curious about those who actually care to try, much less manage to!!

I stan tripleS! They are 24 members and I try to follow each member equally. But I prioritize Kotone and Sohyun!

It is quite hard...., I watch all releases from the official group channels, any content they post, and check out individual posts and releases, i wont e buying any merch unless its from the group tho

atm i like the 01's Zukky, Yui Yui, Erii, Miu, and Naru mostly. the new gens have some interesting members.

Yeah, it's one thing when they're all mostly in the same group, but it's got to be crazy when they're all off on their own activities now!

And at least for me, once the members split off, I'm not necessarily guaranteed to like the new music as much as the OG group.

I'll follow SVT solos and units but anything else is a nah. That being said I don't really care about anyone's cfs/red carpet looks/etc. If I hear about special stages I will watch

i used to be a fan of NCT and SVT but i didn't follow all the members' activities, let alone everything by the entire group
but now since xdinary heroes is the only group i stan, i follow everything

I used to fav izone and ioi however they've since disbanded and I check their solo content every now then but it's hard to follow their solo aactivities

If you can't read Japanese and aren't part of Japanese music communities, it's almost impossible to know Japan's music scene to a larger extent.

I know quite a few artists and do my best to follow them. It's also great to have subreddits where I can discover new artists and don't need to translate song titles.
But I still have the feeling that I'm only scratching the surface of the Japanese music scene.

If you can't read Japanese and aren't part of Japanese music communities, it's almost impossible to know Japan's music scene to a larger extent.

I know quite a few artists and do my best to follow them. It's also great to have subreddits where I can discover new artists and don't need to translate song titles.
But I still have the feeling that I'm only scratching the surface of the Japanese music scene.

I heard Japan is not very interested in appealing to International audiences? that they already havea good enough audience in japan so why bother about international appeal? Atleast thats what I got when I was asking why the heck Doraemon is SO POPULAR and I cant find it in one place translated properly in english
