I either make Buldak or Shin ramen with a fried egg, nothing too fancy
I like to eat it out of the pot tho, it makes it taste different (at least to me) :haylul:

I'll have Maruchan Cup Noodles (lol does that count?) for swim meets often, it helps me warm up in the morning and it's so yummy! :shycat:
For that I just add hot water because I don't bring condiments and toppings to meets

i get any type of spicy noodle. I usually add in boil egg, cheese, beef or chicken, some garnish like cilantro and last and not least I add in sriracha because i need it extra spicy.

Yum! I also eat it out of the pot!

So ramen and ramyeon are fundamentally different although looking at it from a foreigner perspective they're practically the same thing. Both are instant noodles that you add sauce or seasoning to. I think ramyeon however, is not soupy like ramen is where you tend to leave the water mixed with the spices/seasoning to create a broth. Also ramen is not spicy. More savory and salty, whereas ramyeon is spicy or sweet--or a mix of both.
:pepesmug:
I'm definitely more of a ramyeon type of gal'. However, you can't beat authentic ramen served at a Japanese restaurant.

This sounds heavenly! Cilantro is the chef's-kiss to every savory dish.

Absolutely! Although it depends on what kind of Asian food. I can't do anything that involves seafood(mainly because it literally taste like the sea for me) and if it does it has to be Americanized (sushi, seafood boil, fried in healthy vegetable oil)--I'm ashamed to admit. But I'm down to try really anything else. I especially LOVE Korean food (I call it Korean junk food because it's so unhealthy, but healthier in comparison to American standards). Like tteokbokki, kimchi fried-rice, Korean corndog, kimbap, hotteok, and Korean fried chicken.
Wby? What's your overall favorite Asian cuisine?

What a wonderful list!
Wait. :passcodeb: You don't eat seafood? :pepecry1:I love seafood, but ofc it's not for everybody
My family doesn't eat a lot of Korean food, because the spice is too much and there's not many options where we live
The majority of food we consume is probably Chinese, specifically southern and we also eat a lot of ramen and sushi

I like hot pot, Sichuan, jajangmyeon, ramen, sushi, most east Asian foods anyways

But I also really like Khmer food, from Cambodia in Southeast Asia
Like I love Samlor Machu and Kuy Teav!

I tried! Believe me, I've tried so many times but I just can't get over the ocean taste in my mouth. :pepecry1:I love the ocean tho. I do.
Oooooo, I really enjoy eating fried pork and jajangmyeon. I haven't had any authentic Chinese food before. I wanna try hot-pot! There's a restaurant nearby that services Korean BBQ and hotpot. They've got a lot of tasty add-ins. I typically like to eat soup-based noodles when it's cold outside; like udon or ramen for instance.
What are some authentic Chinese dishes you would recommend? I'll do my research to see if I can find an authentic restaurant nearby.
Everything in the states is soooo Americanized! Most people think that the Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, etc. fast food you can get from going through a drive-thru is authentic. They aren't even living! Fortunately there are several local Korean-owned restaurants I go to when I'm not broke.
Oh! What kind of dishes are those?
In terms of flavor, I like anything sweet, salty, savory, spicy, etc.

Ah, that makes sense. Well, I can def see why people don't enjoy the seafood taste
Hot pot is SOOO good but its so expensive too :pepecry2:
Authentic Chinese dishes? I LOVE a good bowl of Sichuan, and niu rou Juan bing, which is a crispy scallion pancake wrapped around beef and cucumbers ITS SOO GOOD!
I also love congee, but it's hard to find a place that doesn't screw it up
If you can find a place with good xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) omygosh those are so good too!

Samlor Machu is a soup with catfish, pineapple, and lemongrass, although there are different variations
I'm not quite sure how to describe the taste, but it's like a blend of sour, sweet, and salty

And Kuy Teav is another soup! It's similar to pho but imo it's better :scree:
Rice noodles in pork broth and you can add all sorts of toppings like pork, shrimp, quail eggs, and herbs!
It's savory and slightly sweet
