Of course there has been many tv shows I have watched with questionable endings and plottwists I haven't been into, but for me when I think tv shows that have really disappointed me to a point of actually starting kinda hate whole thing :pandamad::pandamad: and want to throw writers with rotten tomatoes, have been Merlin and Voltron. So let me rant a bit my inner frustrations.

This has SPOILERS be warned! Also beware lot of incoherent ranting, cause I have lot of angry feelings, @Lovely_Cornchips I guess this is just a day to release our inner feelings of anger towards things ^^;

So Merlin. BBC's rather popular and loved tv show at the time when it came out, apparently 2008-2014, had such great promise with it's start. It was funny, it was emotional, actors were great for roles, great character chemistry, stakes were high and there was suspense.. and then they went and made my favorite female character- this gal morgana

of the show into villain (which I should have expected I mean it's Arthurians lore still), but not only her becoming villain, but she was just so stupid after it and one dimensional after it, they made her just randomly hate everyone she cared about before which was really OOC.

Although I really disliked what was going on with her character, I was hoping some kind of redemption for her, which would been cool or if not redemption at least her to become more aware and more like herself instead of one-dimensional villain (since she had actual reasons be mad and "evil"). Which she didn't.

Fair enough I guess, still great relationships going with rest of the cast, things were still being interesting. Until the end of season 5 and of the series, in the few last eps. Which is probably most BS ending I have seen for the show. The whole damn show Merlin had hid his magic since magic is bad mmkay- and illegal- and tried to serve and keep Arthur alive who was his good friend. But in the end it finally after 5 seasons it was revealed to Arthur that Merlin had magic- big surprise everyone had been expecting and wanting to see since season 1. However Arthurs reaction was just awful, he hated Merlin after it and whole relationship was detroyed which is like good angst if they finally like resolve those issues and the relationships grows even more from the conflict. But no, Arthur remained cold and hateful to Merlin until the end of the series despite them being bffs all 5 seasons straight and do you know what happened to Arthur despite whole plot being that Merlin tried to keep him alive so magic would be accepted once again- he just died in the end. So you have this great relationship between two characters broken in two or three last episodes of whole series, killing of other of the main characters of the show although whole plot was to keep him alive and then just end there without any kind of emotional relief. The whole ending was just so bitter, not bittersweet but bitter.

Let's just say that 1 or 2 seasons the TV series was one of my favorites and I would really recommend it to anyone, but it just went worse and worse as the seasons went on and was just huge trainwreck in the end.

Voltron . So this means the Neftlix animation series Voltron which is superpopular not the older anime one. So Voltron. I once really liked Voltron, at first I kinda watched it and just made fun of it since the first season wasn't that strong though things started to pick up a bit and I started enjoying it. I loved it like season or two in the between, really liked what they were doing with it, but they started going of the rails in S5 and dropped everything I had loved in S6, god I hate that season. Now I can't stand the show, I can't stand hearing about it, seeing it around, I see it everytime I log into Netflix and it's kind like instant nope and ptsd for me ew ew.

So what happened. Well first of all this is kinda similar story as with Morgana and kinda shows that I really shouldn't fall for characters that might be somewhat villains or become villains. So this is another utter character assassination for my favorite character of the show just for purpose of turning them one dimensional villain and disregarding all their previous character traits that made them awesome, what their personality is, what they held important and dear to them.. But it's not only that and it didn't start with that. It started with really bizarre S5 where the previous semi-villain Lotor- which is my favorite character- suddenly turned into really good not villain at all guy. Which was kinda weird, but made in way that was explained quite well in a way it didn't take away from his character but added to it so I mean fair enough? Though that change of semi-villain to good guy came inexpense of turning heroes and main characters- the Paladins- into quite anti-heroic and intolerant versions of themselves. What's worst their change from goody shoes to hypocritical and selfish "heroes" was never called out, like it was completely disregarded in show like it was something perfectly natural and acceptable behavior. And pretty much the ex-villain Lotor had to do all the hero-work since not only Paladins were kinda bad now, they were also really useless this season. Like they did tons of stupid and cowardly choices due to their selfishness, but were never called out.

But then came S6 where the writers just decided to turn the whole thing around again. They made whole thing of Lotor being good guy into lie and that he was actually way worse guy than everyone had even thought before S5 (he was more of anti-heroic before S5 in my opinion than villain) like they went whole cliche comic book villain with him. They did this even in expense of disregarding his personality traits and core values, what was his motivation and drove him forward during previous seasons. Like for example he was one of most accepting characters towards others origins and races, but he became pretty much space nazi at the end of S6. It was just disgrace.

Not only destroying in my fav character- I mean not only his character but actually blowing him up at the end of season, they also didn't at any point made any effort to make the Paladins likeable after disastrous character assassination they had in S5 and they even completely dropped the ball with "clone Shiro" as well, they pretty much went with popular fan theory that I hated cause it was stupid and disregarded good character, but wow they just went ahead with that BS. And well there was another BS plottwist too that I hated during this S6, but maybe I ranted enough.

So after S6 my favorite character was utterly destroyed and dead, no change of recovery- and pretty much I had started to hate all the main cast as well during the two last seasons so bye bye Voltron for me, never want to see that shitshow again.

So.. umm.. do you have any shows that you loved, but went into direction you hated and you can't stand them anymore? :llama_tea:

I don't really watch TV much so I don't have many examples but one that does stick out to me like a sore thumb is Goblin. SPOILERS AHEAD.

It was my first K-Drama at the time, so i had no idea what to expect (and all i could go off, was all the positivity and hype around it). At first, everything seemed pretty decent, the lore was very well developed, giving each character a purpose and reason for being there and the story seemed promising, 'a bittersweet romance that will make your heart sting' is what I thought it'd be like.

They make you grow attached to each character, so that whenever something happens, you do feel the emotional strain and my heart was so invested. I wanted a happy ending but also sub-consciously knew that it's going to have to be bittersweet and sad. But this wasn't where the story started to go wrong imo, it started to go wrong when they decided to have all the leads be connected. This left for little space for side stories or development outside of those characters.

Then throughout the whole drama, they hyped up the idea that either the goblin is dying, or the goblin's wife will - leaving you as a viewer, in a dilemma. But this dilemma personally died down very early, instead developing into annoyance at how repetitive the narrative became where the two leads would bicker back and forth between having that Goblin's sword pulled out (Meaning that he would die). Eventually, he gets the sword pulled out and everyone that isn't a Grim Reaper 'forgets' anything that happened and he turns into dust - Hurray! Roll the credits. Wait. Nevermind, it continues.

The rest of the drama takes 10 years later, the female lead is finally at her dream job, her life falling into place with her success, but then the scene changes and what is that? The goblin? He's back? But the lore said that once the sword is pulled out, the Goblin finally gets to die and rest in peace! Well scrap the lore apparently because he's back. He appears, she eventually regains her memory, they fall in love, get together, get married, she dies, everyone dies - except the Goblin. Two second leads meet in their next life, alluding to the fact that they're in love and then the female lead happens to just run into the Goblin, then the credits roll.

TLDR; They went back on their established lore to get a sappy ending that was way too convenient, wasting the hours that you spent watching it, getting attached to the characters and getting emotional. wouldn't recommend.

I relate more to being peeved about book plots or book series going down the tubes.

Straight up though, An Ember in the Ashes!? That series is trash and I adored the first book...I hate how the series went downhill after it.

I was more concerned about the fact that they just started adding random stuff like glowing aliens into Merlin....like what the hell.It did nothing except make me feel like I was watching a Doctor Who and Merlin crossover something. Its pretty clear they rushed it just to get it over with, but that still confuses me to this day.

Revenge.

I know the show was always for giggles, but I gave up when they got overboard with the bullsheets.

These series about cat and mouse thing always reach a point where writers just go too crazy with the shenaningans.

Also TBBT, will they continue till their children have children?

I don't like when they start adding other people and it gets confusing, I usually don't watch shows though

I feel like additions are quite risky, sometimes you get used to them and they might even bring something great to show, but sometimes they don't quite match with the show and can be even annoying cause you are used of other characters they perhaps even replaced.

lol i just finished season 8 of Voltron today. I didn't realize going into watching that it was the shows final season and boy do I gotta say i'm not happy with it's ending.

There was a total lack of character development that they could have had if they cut out boring and repetitive fight scenes. They literally spent half the season stopping the villain from doing the same bad thing like 3 times.

The end of the war too felt like a total cop-out and a sacrifice of a great character for no reason.

I seriously felt like they just killed Allura off to make people cry. Like they wanted a tear jerker ending so they went "Hey let's have Allura sacrifice herself even though having Honerva could be enough!"

I just wasn't satisfied with it and I felt like they didn't take the series to it's full potential
