They describe themselves as "k-rossover pop" to indicate they incorporate both trot and modern pop elements. Which kind of makes sense, given they're signed to a label under JYPE.

I don't really understand genres enough to say what is trot and what is not, but they have this traditional Korean vibe that is very fresh and unique! I'm curious to see how significant of a part it will play in future releases, how well it's received etc. When Nmixx started out they went really heavy on their unique sound (mix-pop) but toned it down a bit over time and making it flow more subtly through (most) of their songs while still holding on to what makes their sound so unique. I'm sort of expecting Dodree to do the same thing since 'Like a dream' was so heavy on the traditional vibe.

I think many debut tracks are kind of a concept showcase and I'm interested to see how deeply they hold onto it!

I really enjoyed like a dream, so it would be cool if they stuck to that style but I can see them go into a more mainstream direction if it does not work out
