and as I've said in many previous occasions (albeit not to you personally) communication is hard and it's even harder online where all semblance of body language and tone and the "non-verbal" aspects of language is lost and two people having the exact same conversation can have very different interpretations of the conversation.
Add to that that not everyone's first language is English so that can make things even more difficult
