A delivery man has helpfully informed me that there is a DEAD ANIMAL right on the steps that lead to my house. I have two entrances, and it's the one I don't use... basically ever, so I have no idea how long it's been there for.

My fingers are crossed that a raccoon or something will make off with it.

Absolutely hate having to deal with dead animals. No one warned me about how many dead animals I would be collecting on my tiny property!!! (The correct, acceptable number would have been zero.)

Well, since it is also summer it would be best to remove it because the last thing you want is the smell of a dead animal marinating in the summer sun (lol). Which animal is it?

I hate that you're right.

I think it's a baby mole. It's definitely a baby animal of some kind, but it's super gross so I didn't inspect it too closely.

Aw, I am like you tho, I do not like seeing animals dead, or in pain.

Maybe just try dig a small hole if possible and just bury it like that. There is still a chance depending on where you live, that some other animal may dig it back up and eat it, but hey problem would be solved either way.

I live in an apartment now, but when I had a house with a garden, I once woke up to a disembowelled pigeon in my garden, guts and feathers all over the place, that a cat must have hunted during the night. Cleaning that up was not fun

It's the worst!! I finally took care of it, and a bunch of ants basically ate all the soft parts, so it was mostly a pile of bones, but ughhhhhh
