It was revealed before that Stellar girls had issue with staff trying to get them wear revealing underwear for Vibrato mv:

""We were strongly against it because we knew it was impossible to dance in them. This was a big no for us. We told them it was impossible because the thongs [G-strings] would roll up while we dance. If they ignored our opinion and forced us to wear them, we were going to pack our bags and go home. We told each other that we would leave. Thankfully, we settled things and got to dance in more clothes". "

Stellar also had makestar for their comeback, but there were rumors that the members hoped fans wouldn't donate cause they didn't want another comeback to happen, during this time fans had spotted them crying a lot in fanmeets etc. There is no confirmation if the this rumor is correct or uncorrect though.

Stellar Have Sent Out An SOS | K-Pop Amino

Now Gayoung has revealed in late interview that the Stellar didn't want to have a sexy concept. The staff was forcing Stellar girls to this concpt and manipulated them to wear sexy clothing they were uncomfortable with. They took shots the girls didn't agree with and used them in the mv's and photobooks despite girls being very uncomfortable with these being released.

Former Stellar member Gayoung reveals how the group was forced into sexual concepts

& discussion on reddit about this

So, I think the story of Stellar the group is quite sad one and makes me pretty uncomfortable to watch their stuff. I don't have problem with sexy concept, but I think it can't be something forced for person. Stellar went further with sexy concept than arguably any girl group before so it's quite disheartening and bit disgusting to hear how much the girls were hating it. It's kinda like casting someone into romantic movie lead, have them do stuff they are uncomfortable with and then release the film as porn movie. : /

There is big faults in the idol system. One of them is that you have debt to your company and contract that you can't break without fee, but the company can do with you what they want, I mean they can throw you into group or put out as solo, they decide the concepts you are going to have, what you will wear, how the dance is going to be etc. Of course lot idols have say in these matter of course, but then there is huge wrongdoings like what happened with Stellar.

Stellars situation has always been heartbreaking to me. They were talented and had good music they deserved so much more than they got.

It makes me mad to that there's no protection for idols on this stuff. So much with the industry sets idols up to be controlled by these companies and it just isn't right

Yea, in "normal" work you have at least couple options to report to, to higher ups or to work union, there is also "trustee" in my country in many workplace who has workers side and will settle issues between workers and higher ups without workers having to risk their employment for bringing up problems themselves. So kpop industry for sure would benefit from some kind of supervision over how idols are treated (there is as bad cases as rape, forced prostitution, beating up and torture), that the contract is fair and followed (payment for example) and that work conditions are up to standards (enough sleep and food).

Yeah it's scary. Especially when you hear about it being the heads of the agencies doing these things.

Most people are kids and teens when they join these companies and are taken advantage of

I agree.
I think the company aimed it to be a controversy, which is so sad. I mean, Korean media bans the smallest thing (like unzipping skirts to reveal your upper leg). I think the company knew it would be a controversy, BUT, it has made them famous, what the company aimed for.
It's so sad these girls have to go through all of this with things they aren't comfortable. We feel sorry for them, but we KNOW about them. We know they exist. I hope they can do what they like and feel comfortable with in the future: they deserve it ^^
I love their music. Vibrato is a good song but I just can't watch the MV

I'm not biggest fan of sexually provocative stuff, but as long the girls would have been onboard with it, I think it's fine. Lot of idols have sexy concept and don't seem to have any issues with that, rather they seem like they want to go to that direction for example Ga-In. But it's sad to hear that Stellar's members first thought they were debuting in cute group and then had to suddenly do concepts like this.

Hmh, I wonder what child protection services think about these in South Korea. Or I wonder what kind of child protection there is, cause I think my country would be quite quick to put end of overworking as a kid and possible abuse. Though it's not like bad things don't happen here, though it's usually scam model agencies.

I know they used child labor laws for kids in movies and TV to protect them from being overworked but i'm not sure about the music industry.

I think it's become very obvious entertainment industries everywhere have sexual abuse problems though.....

I remember thinking that milk scene in Marionette was pretty disturbing, I feel bad for the girl that it was filmed and released without her consent, even more when Gayoung said she got trauma from it : (

Yea, I just wonder cause I know lot of idols are overworked and have to go without lot of sleep including the younger ones. Some are just 14 or 15 when they debut after all : /

That's true, thank for metoo for coming public with sexual abuse on entertainment industries though. There has been so much stuff coming out in my country too of sexual harasshment and abuse.

I know they talk about being up at 4am and not going to sleep until 3am the next day like it's normal and i'm just like....you are 16 please sleep
it's not healthy at all

Me too has been revolutionary in spreading awareness it's saddening to see people so against it though because they think it's "gone too far"
There's a lot of things concerning sexual abuse, harassment, and assault I consider going too far but apparently wanting people to be held accountable is too much too ask lmao

Yup, I remember many babies (god still hate that fandom name) being very concerned over Zelo cause he was spotted sleeping all the time on backgrounds in uncomfortable positions, poor boy.

And like pics like this of idols can first seem cute..

It's lot less cute when you realize they are that exhausted though they try to make fun of it too.

Especially, knowing now that B.A.P was being overworked it's sad.

Yea. And the sad thing is we know them by that, not their songs (at least most of Kpop fans)

Yea I heard the girls were pretty talented too : / The concept really attracted attention and buzz, but not enough to get people invested in the group itself. And apparently the management was bad in other ways too like delaying albums and not informing girls on things.
