Do you prefer the city or the countryside? (1 Viewer)

I've experienced both and both have the advantages and disadvantages.

The countryside is relaxing and quite calming. It's a great place to destress and to think. I think I would love to spend time there when I am older. But there are quite a few bugs, the toilets can be inconvenient at times and you don't always get good wifi.

The city is really convenient because it has a lot of shops and places to eat. Plus, you can get good service in the area. But it's often cramped and there is often quite high crime rate in the area (it depends on where you live though). Everything is also very rushed.

But if I had to pick one place to live, I think it would be the countryside because I love the air and the overall atmosphere.

countryside tbh... i perfer a calm and peaceful settings, but i live in an expensive city and am constantly stressed XD

City, i have always wanted to live in a city, not in the city centre exactly, but in walking distance from it. And that's where i'm currently living so i'm pretty happy. I used to live in country side from around 10 years, oh boy it was that long, and it wasn't nice. It was mostly isolated athmosphere for me, with little things to do. It's not like my family had farm so most of my childhood i spent reading- since we didn't have internet at that time. So definitely prefer city life. I like how public transport works here, you actually get around with it, then you have all kinds of shops and places to eat, there is always some new place u can travel to and see..

The sea

This one. For many years I lived in a house that was 200 meters from the sea/beach/water.

You can't get more crowded than Chennai lol. I don't actually come from there. Both my parents come from villages in Tamilnadu. I said Chennai before because the villages are very small and unknown. We always spend time in the villages so I've never really looked around Chennai. My auntie lives there now so I stayed there for a while last summer and it's a nice place but I can't stand the mosquitoes in the evening.

I would love to experience living in the city for once, but when I return home I have peace and quiet again and I kind of like that..

Where my dad’s family live is on the Scottish coast. It’s pretty far from Edinburgh’s city centre, but the buses are frequent enough so I can just go there if I want to.

However the city I’ve been brought up in is nice too. It’s a large UK city, but not so large that it’s overwhelming.

If I had to pick I’d go with sea as I feel more at peace and safer there.

I don't mind staying in the countryside for vacation, but to lived. I prefer the city with people and how convenience it is and it tooooo quiet.

Yes, you should check the villages out one day. They can be quite dirty and the toilets aren't always the best but the overall atmosphere is amazing. Especially early in the morning when I used to go on walk with my grandad through the fields. It isn't too hot, the sky is beautiful and the air feels fresh. It's really quite a nice experience. And you hardly get any mosquitoes either.

I still remember the amount of mosquito cream that I had to put on in Chennai when I went last summer and it still didn't stop all the bites. It was pure hell for the first week or two. :(
