Yes, you should check the villages out one day. They can be quite dirty and the toilets aren't always the best but the overall atmosphere is amazing. Especially early in the morning when I used to go on walk with my grandad through the fields. It isn't too hot, the sky is beautiful and the air feels fresh. It's really quite a nice experience. And you hardly get any mosquitoes either.

I still remember the amount of mosquito cream that I had to put on in Chennai when I went last summer and it still didn't stop all the bites. It was pure hell for the first week or two. :(

Toilet conditions never bothered me, my sister was always grossed out, but she didn't live in India until she was five, I did. I remember once going into a sugarcane field with my uncle, and that was the first time tasting raw sugar, and it was so good. It makes me so frustrated when people call India a giant trash can to my face, because all they see on TV is that. I bet they've never been to the villages, Kerala, the temples...

Raw Sugar cane is delicious.

We always had Aloe Vera plants that grow naturally in the area so we always put some in our hair and on our face before talking a bath. Your skin and heair feel amazing afterwards. And my cousin's place had jackfruit (palapallam) growing in their backgarden so we used to eat jackfruit everyday. Jackfruit is one of the most amazing fruits to ever exist. It just tastes so good.

It bothers me when people talk about India like that too. It does have quite a lot of trash, but that's because the people don't have anywhere else to put it. I once put a coffee cup in the bin and the man said that there was no point because it was going to go to be chucked on the streets anyway. The government don't have a set system for trash which is why it piling up on the streets. It doesn't help that many countries like England or the US dump their trash in places like India as well. I think India is a beautiful country and it could be even more beautiful if the government put some effort in trying to look after it..

And it sucks that you have to take medicine. Being allergic to mosquito bites while living in India must be terrible...
