So what amount of sales would you guys say is... enough?
I mean enough for a group to constantly be able to have comebacks and such...
Since like i keep seeing number everywhere and they mean squat to me when i have no idea if that amount is enough or not

I love a lot of nugu groups so seeing if their sales are any good seems quite important to me so... do any of you have any idea about something like this?

@notthatmarko you got some chart knowledge what do you say?

no idea but I once heard from an American artist that when they sell a CD for 15 bucks it looks like this:

- 2 bucks go to the shop where you bought the CD
- 2 bucks are taxes
- 5 bucks cause the production
- 2 bucks for the staff of the company
- 2 bucks for the owner of the company

and at the end they earn less than 2 bucks on the CD because you need know they have to pay taxes on the money they earn too and so you need to sell enough CDs so everyone can live from that and the difference to Asian companys and non Asian companys is that people in Asian companys have to give most of the less than 2 bucks to the company they earn from each CD cause they cause so much money before from training, eating, new clothes and other new stuff, the apartment has to be payed etc. and the company payed it before and so many groups need to hit it oneday to not being poor anymore. My ultigroup for example said once they are so poor they often get no food and luckly the restaurant where their company is in it's basement is kind and gives them free food. Someone else once said AOA needet over 3 years to be out of their depth after their debute and if they had disbandet before or never had made it big than they would still need to pay off this depth...

Wouldnt it depend a lot on other factors, like how expensive their songs are, how much promotion they do, their company, ect.
I have nothing else to add because I dont know anything about anything.

Like Vikki said, plenty of factors are included. It's not the same to produce a comeback for the Big 3 artist and for someone from Fantagio for example. The expenses are higher as staff are paid more. On top of that, more money is spent on idols from well developed company. If I'm not mistaken there was a Kickstarter for a group who pledged 5000 USD and claimed that's all they need for a comeback. This included a poor MV, obviously. Big 3 should sell at least 50k physical and hit a million mark with digitals to be able to profit from a comeback. But if you're a nugu you should be fine with 5k sales.

Oh cool well that's about what i needed to know. Thank you!
And yea the factors really are annoying that's why i wasn't expecting a concrete answer anyway. I do expect nugus to need less tho so hopefully it's enough for most of em. Even tho i'm not looking at that nugu at this point, since i'm currently looking at Gugudan.

Probably about 100k consistently
I think that would have to be for very high quality and high maintenance groups tbh or for a group that has a giant debt but well i don't usually know anything about it :yolk:
