Does JYP not care about music quality? (1 Viewer)

Looking back at JYP over the past few years I feel like their music has gone downhill. Specifically after 2pm enlisted/late 2016. With the debut of ITZY being highly mixed unlike other ggs debuts is this just 2019 or JYP's lack of producer fund?

In 2017 Twice went from TT to K. The quality of their bsides have gone down significantly after their one studio album. Let's also talk about how the stylist keeps giving Nayeon (and the rest) ugly one pieces.

Got7 had a bit of a resurgence with 7 for 7 to Eyes On Me but has regressed with Lullaby and Eclipse imo. The styling has gotten better with Got7 but I think we should leave the producing to the producers..

Even Stray Kids has declined imo. From Mixtaoe to Side Effects(?), it's a bad look. Chan also has a hate train on him and unlike before JYP did nothing to stop it/clarify the situation.

The quality of teasers, promotions, and mvs has also been very tragic. As onces know, we had experienced the tragedy of Sana's wig and Mina's bangs... Next up is Dahyun's scalp. In conclusion, Jennie is pretty

I loved the Fancy mini though, all B sides were great. And the styling and outfits for everyone were on point

Wonder girls have the best JYP discography for me.

Stray Kids and GOT7 are pretty inconsistent for a lot of people I guess.

I actually prefer Twice b-sides now since What is love but prefer theirs title tracks before.

it depends. I do think jyp‘s bg‘s went downhill. Just compare some classic 2PM to a new release; or GOT7‘s first songs to what they release now and it‘s just not it anymore.

Twice though still has great titles and great bsides. Itzy is just starting so we shouldn’t really discuss them in this topic since we don’t have anything to compare it with ozher than other rookies which is unfair.

Quality is so subjective that there's no way to judge if it's gone downhill.

But Jennie being pretty is a fact that no one can dispute

I love all of Twice's older titles, and tbh I didn't care for DTNA or Yes or Yes. But I loved both What Is Love and Fancy. And I've never been a huge fan of Twice's b-sides (some are good but most are meh), but I loved all of the b-sides from Fancy. It's easily my favorite album from them. And even though it's a Japanese release, Breakthrough is already one of my favorite Twice songs ever (Happy Happy is a very different story though, for me at least lol).

So in Twice's case, I really don't think they have gone downhill. I'm liking less of their title tracks than I did before, that's true. But even if I hated all of the new stuff, I'm not sure I would say that the quality is bad. It just wouldn't be my type of music.

Also I can't really talk about any of the other groups because I don't listen to them (except ITZY and I thought their debut was fun).

Honestly, I could never get into older jypggs like WG and Miss A, so I can't say much about an overall decline. I think 2018 was kinda a rough year musically for Twice but 2019 is a lot better

As far as Itzy, mixed feelings. I loved Dalla Dalla and thought Want it was the worst song this year until Zimzalabim came out.

Considering they're probably copy and pasting Dalla Dalla, Inma just wait for the bsides ig

I think Twice's Japanese music is better than their Korean music. Is it handled by JYP because I feel the same for Got7?

I have no idea tbh but I always just kinda assumed it would be. Idk how companies treat foreign releases for their kpop artists.

But yeah I think Twice has a lot of pretty strong Japanese releases (except Happy Happy which I don't really like).
