KyoAni has faced some hard times recently with the arson happening and they have also gotten lot of support in both heartfelt msgs and donations. I thought it would be nice to have bit of appreciation andremembrance thread for their art and work. Just to talk about their animes, series and movies, what is your favorite, what they mean to you and such things. To appreciate what they have brought to anime community. And let's hope and pray for their future as well, as for the families of those affected.

i’ve only watched one kyoani animation in full (i have yet to finish hyouka and k!on)
and that was a silent voice. i remember being so happy with how beautiful the animation turned out AND how faithful it was to the original manga. their animation has this dream-like, sort of rainbow(?) lense to it that i love.

a lot of animation studios try to make things intense and dark but i appreciate how colorful and smooth their work is.

I'm bit embrassed to admit, but actually Free! is my favorite anime from KyoAni. Maybe it's bit embrassing cause it's at least seen as emotional and deep as their some other work, but rather pretty fanservicey- which is sth KyoAni is really good at as well. But i guess i like the balance of it, it has fanservice, but i think it just adds lot of humor to the show and it's sth that is both lighthearted, cute and funny- and sth that also has some more emotional and deep moments that resonate with me.

Some of my other favorites are ofc classic Clannad that got so many tears out of me and actually so did A Silent Voice and Violet Evergarden as well. Gorgeous animation, some waifus and husbandos, as well as comedy and sadness hand in hand is sth I think when I think of KyoAni.

I'm hoping that the company recovers from this, but I don't know if it's bit selfish to wish. But i think they know best where to go, but if they decide the continue as company, and i think they probably will, i'm looking forward to their stuff. Still i'm sure it will be sth hard to get over for the employees and the company and it will take time.

Clannad and Clannad: After Story are masterpieces that are worth being called "national treasures". The attack was devastating and I sincerely hope the victims and their families get through this tough time.

I also enjoyed the Free! series as well.

KyoAni always delivers with their art style and animation. Definitely the best in the industry.

They have really pretty way of animating, colors and all. If you are looking forward seeing more from them Violet Evergarden is one of their newest stuff and it's just breathtaking : )

Clannad is definitely classic that stays, not many anime has gotten to that level. Maybe i should rewatch it sometime, gotta get tissues ready though.

I just realised they made Hyouka. :O Its such an underrated anime and the animation is beautiful, also it has one of my favorite male character ever: Oreki. For those, who never watched it, give it a try, it has a really interesting storyline, and the characters are loveable.

Oh they made Free too. The opening is epic.

And Violet Evergarden too. Beautiful songs and the animation is one of the best I have ever seen.


The Silent Voice is one of my favorite movies ever (ok I watched like 3, if we dont count the OP movies...). I cried so much watching it.

This made me realise that I again forgot to watch Clanned...

I was really shocked when I heard about what happened. It's aweful. I wish full recovery for those who were hurt, and for the familes who lost their loved one, I wish comfort and strenght.

Free is also one of my fav
Because I watched it when I had a hard time in my life and it brought me laughter and smiles when I was really sad and depressed

It really is feel-good anime, i can relate to that a lot ^^

I will. I wanted to start something new today, so I think it will be Clanned. I am planning to watch it since years....
