Kang Daniel’s legal representative has shared an update on taking action against defamation.

Kang Daniel’s agency KONNECT Entertainment previously announced on August 6 that legal action will be taken for malicious comments and rumors.

On August 9, his lawyer released the following statement:

Hello, this is lawyer Yeom Yong Pyo of Yulchon LLC, the legal representative of singer Kang Daniel.
Representing Kang Daniel, we filed criminal complaints today (August 9) for violations of the “Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.” to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Cybercrime Investigation Unit against those who have repeatedly posted various false rumors, insulting and derogatory personal attacks, and photoshopped images with the aim of slandering Kang Daniel.
Kang Daniel explained, “I am always thankful for the affection and encouragement sent by fans, and I will accept advice and tips given with love even more humbly. However, some people who appear to have ulterior motives rely on anonymity to repeatedly spread false information and personally attack. I inevitably resulted to filing criminal complaints due to the judgment that it is not right to allow the continuation of severe defamation of myself and my fans.” Kang Daniel is currently experiencing severe emotional pain due to malicious comments.
Fans and his agency collected lots of evidence of intentional and repetitive malicious comments and false information out of the many posts on Internet communities and social media, and we plan on taking stern action for severe law violation also in the future through continuous monitoring. Thank you.​

He can just... ignore them? As long as people don't have any proof of their defamatory statements he should not move with a pinky regarding these. The main problem with humans is that they care what others have to say.

He's not just an idol, he's a CEO of a company, he should just let people spread false rumours about his company, himself and his fans? What kind of excuse is that he should ignore it. You're just giving more power to shitty people with this kind of excuse, while as people (idols are also people, they're not somehow above us) have to 'ignore' something that can possibly ruin their reputation. He's been dealing with this shit since Wanna One debuted, you're acting like it's first time to happen. Enough is enough, he's already taking pills for anxiety, don't e x c u s e terrible netizens, who are spreading lies and cyber bullying. You clearly can't relate to any of it and I feel sorry for you but don't tell other people, idols or not, that they should suck it up and move on.

And there's enough of evidence, I can tell you this as his fan, of over 2 years. It also hurts his fans to be reading such comments about him when he hasn't done anything wrong. Not liking an idol is not a reason to trash them every chance.
