Me lovey.

I've had Ladies Night on continuous repeat and heard it maybe 20+ times by now. I've listened to every other track on Day 2 (except the title track) just once.

Ladies Night is that rare song (for me) that's instantly likeable yet rewards repeated listenings since it has so many little differences between its sections. The composers and arrangers crammed a decade's worth of disco ear candy into its nooks and crannies. We have flute accents, rhythm guitar riffs, that bass, those horns, ... . And even after so many listenings I'm still discovering little ad libs here and there.

I think Ladies Night is the best recycling job of disco era riffs since TTS' I Like The Way.

Another nice reaction. He points out the R&B breakdown in the second verse...

... which brings me to this observation: Monotree (specifically one of its members) loves Joy's voice. This was mentioned in the Hear The Sea video that came out a month ago. If you look at the Red Velvet songs composed/arranged by Monotree, you'll find that Joy starts the song. The exception is Ladies Night. For this song they saved Joy for the second verse because (I suspect) it has the R&B breakdown, and they let Wendy start with the more straightforward first verse.
