When I started this drama, I wasn't expecting much from it at all. It was simply a past time while I waited for more episodes of Hotel Del Luna. Now I'm waiting for the next episode more than Hotel Del Luna.
Here is the synopsis on Wikipedia:
A romantic comedy that depicts the daily lives of 30-year-old best friends Lim Jin-joo, Lee Eun-jung and Hwang Han-joo.
It doesn't sound like much at all and it didn't sound that promising to me at the beginning as well. Romantic comedy is definitely not a genre that I regularly watch either. So what pulled me to this drama? The characters. From the slightly crazy, rookie scriptwriter, Lim Jin Joo obsessed with designer handbags but only owns one, to the the strong single mother Hwan Han-joo who works hard everyday and not to mention the uptight documentary director who still sees her dead fiance, Lee Eun Jung. You're drawn to all the characters, even the side characters as you follow them on a journey.
It doesn't follow the regular rules of kdrama at all. The endings of each episode don't end in cliffhangers like most kdramas. On the contrary, they end rather peacefully with even one episode ending with them sleeping. But you still want to watch the next episode. You realise that you're not there for the plot, but for the characters. You want to support the characters and you're left wondering what will happen to the characters rather than what will happen next in the story.
The drama is only a few episodes in, and it already tells a story of strength, growth and flaws. No one is described as perfect and no one is. You're cracking up in laughter at every scene as you experience the emotions their feeling.
Not to mention, a very addicting OST (wait till the chorus):
I hope anyone who reads this has the chance to watch this drama <3
