Did you know Dolls can house spirts of the dead? Scary right.
Meet the haunted doll, Okiku, she was named after her owner in the 1918. At two years old her seventeen-year-old brother Eikichi Suzuki, bought the doll in the shop on the street of Tanuki-koji in Sapporo (Hokkaido). The little girl loved the doll so much she dare not to part with it. Even after a year later after the little girl had gotten suddenly ill. She died holding her much adore doll in her arms.
In memory of their beloved daughter her parents put the toy in the home altar, where daily prayed for Okiku. Soon they began to notice something strange , the Doll’s hair, black and straight, began inconspicuously to increase in length as they grew like they were alive! The family believed that the doll, apparently possessed by the spirit of a dead Okiku. Every time they began to cut the hair of the doll, and each time the hair will grow down to the knees and stop.
In 1938 the family moved and brought the doll to a temple in Manenji. And there she remain to this day .Ministers periodically cut the doll hair that grows at the same rate as a small child.
