MONT so far seem to have 2 types of songs, cute and political. Obviously political songs can be problematic with 24k being a perfect example, they were blacklisted by the president because they showed support for the other candidate during the election period. This isn't as risky for MONT, since their political songs are in favor of Korea. The only issue would be with Japan potentially, seeing as both songs are against Japanese colonialism in the past.
This first music video was released for the 74th anniversary of freedom from Japanese rule during WW2.
this second one is about Dokdo, which is an island that have been disputed in the past between Korea and Japan, with both nations making arguments as to why it is theirs. It's officially considered South Koreas, but its still a sore spot. it is also symbolically important because it was the first area that Japan took from Korea. There are economic reasons as to why Japan wants the area that I won't go into, you can look it up if you want. The first MV was also filmed on this island, which no kpop group has done before.
Risky territory, I don't remember other groups having typically patriotic songs like this, particularly rookies. They're defintiely a group Im going to keep my eye on, its always interesting when a group tries something different.
