After making history at the Oscars, I think cinemas are taking notice of the international interest in the film, and many are having screenings now to show those who haven't seen it yet so they can see for themselves just how deserving the movie is of all the awards it has received.

My local cinema is having 3 screenings a day for a week starting Friday. Me, my mum and my sister are going to go see it I think. I've already watched it once but i'm excited to see it on the big screen, and just the fact that it's being shown locally makes me so happy that it's so widely recognised now to reserve a space in local cinemas for which I cannot remember the last time showed a foreign language film with the exception of the one showing for each of the BTS movies.

thankfully it is! it firstly came out in september and had like 6 screenings a day for 2 months. i was surprised back then already because the city i live in is quite small and with the amount of awful polish movies that they play but no one wants to see and all the english language movies coming out at the same time i didn't think they would consider playing a foreign movie for such amount of time. now it's back because last week the cinemas brought back the oscar nominated movies for one screening a day (except of 1917 and little women which are still playing regularly as they came out late january). i'm seeing it again tomorrow and from what i've seen, all seats (and there is like 125 of them) are taken which is even more surprising because the screening is on a weekday at 10pm. the movies they brought back were supposed to stay until 16th of february but with all the awards parasite has received i'm hoping it stays until march so that i can watch it again. i mean last year they were playing bohemian rhapsody from november to april so why not :wimwim:

I don't know if there is extra screenings now, but I wouldn't be surprised. It has apparently been screening here since 31th January and is screening now more. Maybe Oscar nominations were what made it screen in first place, we don't really get many non-Hollywood films here.

I can't check when is next screening though from the website it seems to be down. I guess too many people trying to buy tickets to see it xd

It is showing at 2, 5, and 7.30 for me. I kinda don't want it to be too busy bc I want good seats but I also want it to be really busy bc it deserves it and if it gets a lot of demand it's showing time might get extended! I really can't predict how much demand there will be where I live tho, either way it's going to surprise me lol

With the timing i'd say it probably was the Oscar nomination, idk whether it's just a thing for cinemas to start showing Oscar nominated films or if it's just bc the Oscars gave it a lot of interest internationally

I don't think it would be where I live. Too small a town for it to do sales justice.
We don't get a lot of films here due to our size.

Most of the titles like this one Parasite. Would show in the capitols for the most part. Like Brisbane, Melbourne etc.
