im stealing this from another forum because i thought the topic was interesting... what are some kpop truths that are kinda hard for people to swallow?

here are a few of mine:

mid tear kpop groups will usually always stay as mid tear kpop groups

when kpop idols leave their respective groups or get kicked out, theyre not coming back. no matter how much begging or petitions, they're not coming back.

most of the fanservice you see on stage is not real and a lot of the time its planned behind the scenes.

the majority of visuals are only in their respective groups to enhance the image, not the group's overall talent or music.

male groups will always be more privileged then female groups

those are just a few...

B3 idols aren't more talented then the rest. Same way that getting into a B3 doesn't mean your better or more talented, you just fit their style the most

Your faves are not giving up solo gigs/more lines to prioritize the group, it's being given up for them

1. Line distributions are NOT important. I know it sucks when our bias gets done dirty, I feel bad too. But doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. And honestly, it shouldn't always be fair either.
2. Most of the idols are probably dating/in a casual fling.
3. Music has never been the most important factor. A group's image/personality will always bring in more money than the actual music.

I'm not completely disagreeing with this but on the other hand you usually don't live with your coworkers and spend a crazy amount of time with them like idols do so I think just calling them coworkers isn't that accurate.

True but even within that there will be inner groups and such. I'm sure every member isn't close to everyone else, but they probably have 1-2 they're really good friends with.

For sure in larger groups but we can kind of see that already. For small groups it would depend on their background probably.

The whole “lazy Jennie” debacle was blown way out of proportion and probably still would have happened if someone in Bp was a leader simply because of the hatred that the kpop community has for bp, specifically Jennie. The girls have said that they’re most comfortable not having a leader because they’re all really close and offer something up to the group, so they didn’t want to ruin that by having a leader.

People dont consider that most of what their favorites do (mostly GGs) is forced or unconsensual for the benefit of the company they work under. Some of it, maybe, but most, not so much.

Most of the idols are unhappy where they stand as an idol/entertainer. They may seem happy, but that doesnt mean anything.

Idols, mostly in lower tear, are more than likely secretly dating, dating restrictions or not.

No group is artistically superior than all the rest, they are all business.

Yeah I agree that it is exaggerated. But there is probably still a lot dependency since a lot of companies don't treat them well, so who else can they really depend on, especially since they don't have a lot of time for family and things like that. Being in a band is pretty different from normal co-workers.
The dependency on fans is really overdone though as you said. Sometimes it gets way too corny the way they talk about their fans. I'm sure they like their fans as nice people who support them, but it doesn't go much beyond that.
