The amount of top spots shouldn't be fixed (1 Viewer)

People always talk about the top groups like there is a fixed amount of spots but it doesn't make sense to have a fixed amount for the top as we end up where we are now that people see Gfriend as not being top group worthy anymore and slotting someone else in even when it's not that the group has the impact to be in the top groups, it's just that people feel Gfriend don't and need to be replaced.​

Gfriend is a really weird spot since they are going through a clear digital decline while the other top ggs (Twice, Mamamoo, Blackpink) are still holding their own just fine

However, like Red Velvet who had some questionable charting last year, I think Gfriend could overcome it with a more appealing song. But for whatever reason, not only is Soumu no longer interested in that, Big Hit also seems to have no desire in correcting it and seems to double down on the anime innocence sound.

Gfriend is really in a tough spot and has been for a while I would say. It seems like the music now isn't connecting as well as it used to but it doesn't change the fact that gfriend as a group achieved a lot and has multiple big hits under their name.

I also think internationally speaking that mamamoo get's overlooked and is not as appreciated as Twice or Blackpink are.

I think Gfriend just had more time for it to show since out of the 5 they peaked first and now you have things like Kill This Love was arguably Blackpinks worst performing title track digitally. Twice, Red Velvet and Mamamoo all have songs which did poorly like The Best Thing I Ever Did, Really Bad Boy and Wind Flower so they all could be approaching the part where their digitals are shaky.

All of them doing poorly is inevitable at this point I feel but I don't think there's any replacement for any of them either since Iz*One and Itzy have the physicals to be a top group but they have yet to have digitals to establish themselves as a solid top girl group like the others did. This being the reason why I feel like sticking it to 5 and just shoving Iz*One or Itzy for the sake of having 5 is silly and just gives a top with 4 established groups and 1 trendy group.

For Gfriends spot specifically, I don't mind them not being a top girl group anymore since they may have now reached a point where they don't have the momentum to pick up fans and are sliding into that Apink position but i'd just say top 4 girl groups at that point until a worthy group comes along.
